As we learned from last year's competion, we had to balance the weight of the worldcup points to make
sprinters and allrounders more equal. Because there are far more sprint events, you see?

We did that in the way as listed below. All world cup races are devided in a so called A and B-division, the
standard ISU WC points are:

World Cup Division A

World Cup Division B

Up to and including the Wcup in Butte the allrounders skate once per distance, but the sprinters twice. To count all distances equally the results of the sprint distances are halved. So for the allrounders the above points, for the sprinters:

A Division : 50-40-35-30-25-22.5-20-18-16-14-12-10.5-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-0.5
B: Division 12.5-8.5-5.5-3.5-2.5-1.5-1-0.5

Calgary:
Allrounders have a normal program, sprinters skate once per distance. Because it is the final World Cup for the sprinters their WCup points are not halved. Also, according to the new ISU rules: "In the last competition of the season for each distance, World Cup bonus points will be awarded as follows:
The top 8 skaters of Division A will be rewarded with a bonus of 20 points each.
The skaters placed from 9 to 14 of Division A and the top 2 skaters of Division B will be rewarded with a bonus of 10 points each. " (this apllies for the sprint distances in Calgary).

At Baselga the allrounders earn their normal points, and at the Heerenveen Final they get the bonus points, so respectively they get:

Div. A: 120-100-90-80-70-65-60-56-42-38-34-31-28-26-14-12-10-8-6-4-2-1
Div. B: 35-27-11-7-5-3-2-1
When the World cup circus has finished, the allrounders can achieve a maximumscore of 520 points per distance (their normal points), and also the sprinters can reach a maximum of 520 (8*50+120) points (which are not their normal WCup points, max 920).

WORLD SINGLE DISTANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Because of the importancy the amount of points to win count double. Except for the long distances 'Division A'-points are doubled: 200-160-140-120-100-90-80-72-64-56-48-42-36-32-28-24-20-16-12-8-4-2

For the 500m the end results count - not the 2 heats. The long distance skater in your team is able to join two races, so in this case normal 'Division A' points are awarded for the two distances, they don't count double.

Skaters that are disqualified or that don't start don't receive points.

Ties are rewarded the highest points, e.g. tied places 5 and 6 get 50 points,  nr 7 gets 40 points.

B-group 'seeding points' don't count, only the real WC points.

By this scoring system each skater at any distance can earn you a maximum of 720 points over the whole season. The max score of your team could be 5760! (last years winner had 2500 points).
